Yep, that's a good shot of an old timey fillin' station. :) I have no idea what town this was in, but, when I was little we were out doing one of the "remember when" tours with relatives there was an old octagonal gas station that we saw and my parents remembered from back BEFORE the day! I thought it was cool and always liked seeing the old buildings.
That Central High, I'm not sure if it was that or of a school in Jacksonville that my dad drew while he was in still in school. The one in your photo sure looks like I remember his drawing though. I'll have to see if any family member has any of his drawings/paintings anymore. One of the jw side-defects on my family was that those mementos and keepsakes had no value since the end was always so close so who knows what became of things like that.

Thanks for posting TMS.
Ah, the old mill. I took my mother and aunt there several years ago and took a bunch of photos. They told me that the mill was in the opening scene of Gone With The Wind. It is. Quite the story that mill. I was looking for scenic places to go take pics and my aunt told me how to get to a park where there is an old covered bridge. It's in NLR but I can't remember the name of it offhand. I thought one pic came out really nice butcept for it was shot with a cheap digital camera. I'll try to find that and see if it can be made post-worthy.
The mention of Pike also brings back memories. My aunt lives right off of Pike, just north of the FWY. In fact I have relatives all around Ark. and some that have lived in their homes since about WWII. All in all I have mixed feelings about that general area though. While I always loved hearing the stories my parents & relatives told of growing up all around there, I've just never felt much like I had any real connection to Ark. Maybe it was 'cause there is a church on practically every corner? lol

Moshe calls bro Sinutko- Grrr!
by moshe ini read the thread a few days ago about co, & do charles sinutko and his famous 1967 talk that ended with "stay alive 'till 1975".
it brought back a flood of memories.
i listened to his talks - randy has plenty of them on his website, too- http://www.freeminds.org/wav/wav.htm.

Ain't it funny that they would call the cops to have you silenced for blaring out THEIR OWN talks! lol
Just make sure someone gets some great video of the event! :) -

Lighting up a new LED...
by Jim_TX inthe following is meant to be entertaining as well as informative.
i realize that this may not be of much interest to most folks but humor me.
let me ramble for a bit.. as some may know, i have a tendency to play with leds (light emitting diodes).

An LED that will blind you is probably just about the right solution for a cool running big screen projector. I was thinking of building one as a DIY project but gave up and bought a big screen TV. But, it would be nice to build a HUGE screen TV someday.
Best of luck with the experiments Jim. -

QFR Regarding How The "Slave" Is "Discreet"
by minimus ini was reading this nonsense at my mom's house yesterday and when i agreed with one of the definitions for "discreet" from the article, i said, "how could anyone think they were ever discreet when they got everything wrong from russell's day until now?
were they discreet when they said because the end is so close you shouldn't get married, have children and make families??
is that "discreet" or just the opposite???

So before it was mentioned at the convention, did the dub's think the GB&SC WERE perfect? It just sounds funny that it's only true because it was mentioned at a dub convention. The rest of the world knew it forever. lol

Any thoughts on "Secrets of Pedophilia in an American Religion"?
by restrangled ini received my copy at noon today and have just now had to quit reading.
i was appalled at the lengths the wtbs has gone to protect themselves in court.
especially in their objections to handing over documentation.

Thanks for your input Restrangled. I just finished going over the summation. I find it hard to be furious though because we all know what lying scum the WT is. This is just more proof. Now on to the court docs but I hesitate out of respect for the victims.

Is a admitted traitor a sinner or a hypocrite?
by Judas I. ini was just wondering...if i admit i am a traitor, and would like to take steps to rectify my mistake...does that make me a sinner or a hypocrite??.
doesn't a hypocrite hide theirs so they can punish and condemn others for their sins?.
if i admit to being the worst sinner on earth...can i ever be considered a hypocrite?
-

How does hypocrisy work? Why, it has panned out pretty well for the WT so far. That may change though.
